In fact, I usually purchase Fein's sandpaper, but if I have to use a large quantity, I sometimes purchase other paper and cut to fit the sanding pad. Having said that, the sanding pad (with loops) wears out fairly quickly and like many of the Fein accessory attachments, it's much too expensive. My Fein Multimaster is a wonderful tool. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Saved a lot buying from this company. Sandpaper arrived in good condition and packed very well.
As good as this tool is, it certainly has its limitations, and this is one of them. And doing that will melt the edges of the pad and it's velcro surface. This is the factory replacement for the sanding pad on the Fein Multimaster Q Edition. For speed and efficiency of sanding, most users probably use the highest speed setting.
I went through 20 sheets of paper to sand a close-quartered area. It is difficult to comprehend Fein providing sanding pads and paper which are so useless. Both on the same project. Whereas my B & D Megamouse did a 4-foot X 4-foot area with just one sheet. I have had the sandpaper/pads melt in sanding just a 3/4" X 2" area. Both the felt on the paper and the Velcro on the pad melted.
But I sure wish they would beef up this H/L pad I'd like to know if other brands of pads are just as bad. The sander itself is excellent and some of the other accessories are top notch. As others have said here, these pads are P*ss poor. With all the negative reports, you'd think Fein would get a clue.
